The star kept her cards close to her chest whilst presenting Heart London Breakfast today with co-presenter Jamie Theakston, but didn’t rule out new music or hitting the road.
That said, she didn’t exactly make it sound like either possibility could be imminent – given the huge amount of excitement the five-piece stirred when they met up last week.
When Theakston asked if there’s going to be recording or live shows, she said coyly: “Not yet.”
But keeping hope alive, she went on: “The main thing was that we sat together and have gone, ‘Right, there’s things, there’s opportunities here, are we all in?’
“So exciting things to come. What that is yet, we need another kind of sit down, because we were chatting for hours and then we were like, ‘Oh we’ve got to pick the kids up! Quick!’”
Speaking about being in the same room as her bandmates, the former Baby Spice beamed: “Obviously, we’ve seen each other individually, but actually [the last time we were] all together in one room was at the Olympics.
“It was just like, Friday, we thought we would all catch up, everyone was in town, let’s do this, let’s catch up.
“But I don’t think any of us were expecting, we had such a lovely afternoon. We sat down, we had lunch together, we sat round.”
It was alleged last week that TV shows, endorsement deals and a new Greatest Hits collection were on the cards for Bunton, Melanie C, Mel B, Geri Horner and Victoria Beckham.
But it had also been rumoured that Beckham stipulated she did not want to sing again.
“It is not happening,” she said definitively last November. “At some point you’ve gotta know when it’s time say, ‘that was great’.”
The band shot to fame in 1996, and went on hiatus at the turn of the century after Horner – then Halliwell – left in 1998.
They reformed briefly in 2007.
