Samsung Galaxy S9 pre-order: How to make sure you’re first to own new flagship phone

Samsung Galaxy S9 is available to pre-order in the UK. Well, sort of.

Mobile carrier EE is allowing customers to register an interest in the next model in the best-selling Galaxy S series.

The will launch during a keynote address at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) tradeshow in Barcelona later this month.

EE is allowing users to register their names to “find out about the next Samsung Galaxy launch”.

The webpage also includes the official keynote invitation mailed-out by Samsung last month.

“The Camera. Reimagined,” the invites teases, complete with a large number 9.

It also confirms is set to be held on Sunday February 25th 2018.

, “If a picture is worth a thousand words, the latest member of the Galaxy family has a lot to say.

“On February 25, Samsung Electronics will showcase the next generation of Galaxy devices that reimagines the camera and redefines the way you share your moments.”

The Galaxy S9 is widely-tipped to boasts improved slow-motion capabilities.

Samsung’s latest flagship phone will purportedly be capable of recording 1080p video footage at 480 fps.

For comparison, that’s twice as slow as the 1080p video capture at 240 fps the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X are capable of capturing.

The larger on the rear of the phone, enabling users to take photos with an artificial depth effect.

Samsung’s previous flagship handset, Galaxy Note 8, had a similar set-up.

Users were able to adjust the strength of the artificial bokeh effect behind the subject of the photo.

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are also believed to sport a 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch dual-curved, edge-to-edge Super AMOLED “Infinity” display, respectively.

Both models will keep the 3.5mm headphone port – something previously rumoured to have been ditched in favour of USB-C headphones.

Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will also purportedly keep the Bixby button, which was introduced last year alongside the artificial assistant of the same name.
