Red Dead Redemption 2 – Super Bowl 2018 trailer coming for PS4, Xbox One game?

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most eagerly anticipated PS4 and Xbox One games, and fans are hoping a new trailer will debut during Super Bowl 2018.

New Red Dead Redemption 2 details dropped on Friday, with Rockstar Games finally revealing the release date for their return to the Wild West.

An official Rockstar Games blog post revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be out on PS4 and Xbox One on October 26 2018.

Now that a final release date has been set, you can expect Rockstar Games to ramp up promoting the PS4 and Xbox One title.

The gaming giant also promised that more information on Red Dead Redemption 2 would be revealed in the “coming weeks”.

And there’s one perfect opportunity for Rockstar Games to showcase RDR2 to a huge audience that’s round the corner – and that’s Super Bowl 2018.

The NFL extravaganza, which this time round will see the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles face-off, brings in huge viewing figures. The Super Bowl was watched by more than 100million people in the US alone in 2017.

Last year the rumour mill was buzzing with the possibility of a new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer being shown during the Super Bowl.

That, however, came and passed without a new RDR2 tease – with the second Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer instead being broadcast later on in 2017.

But that hasn’t stopped fans from again hoping that Red Dead Redemption 2 could be shown during one of the lucrative Super Bowl 2018 commercial breaks.

And the announcement of the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date a few days before Super Bowl 2018 could lead fans to thinking the timing was no coincidence.

Even if Rockstar Games decides not to reveal more on Red Dead Redemption 2 at Super Bowl 2018, fans can expect more details soon.

This Wednesday February 7 2018, Rockstar Games owner Take Two will reveal their latest financial results.

The gaming giant will also be holding an earnings call, and it’s possible that Red Dead Redemption 2 will feature during it.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick during a previous earnings call discussed Red Dead Redemption 2 after the game’s first delay was announced.

He said: “Red Dead Redemption went out in May and was an extraordinarily successful title.

“Consumers are consuming entertainment year-round now; they don’t stop in the summer months.

“We believe that if you give people an extraordinary experience, they will show up for it.”

Rockstar Games confirmed the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date, and unveiled some new screenshots, on Friday.

They also apologised for the game’s delayed launch, with RDR2 originally meant to be releasing in 2017 on PS4 and Xbox One.

Rockstar Games said: “We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018.

“We apologise to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.”

They also revealed more Red Dead Redemption 2 details will be revealed soon, raising hopes of a new trailer being showcased imminently.

They said: “We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it,” Rockstar continues.

“In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.”
