Conte faces sack

08.00: Antonio Conte faces the sack if Chelsea lose to Watford on Monday night, Express Sport understands.

The former Juventus boss is at loggerheads with Blues owner Roman Abramovich over transfers and if results slip away he could be let go.

Chelsea are already out of the Premier League title race and are just two points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham, meaning Champions League football is far from guaranteed.

Failure to deliver a top-four finish would be the final nail in the coffin for Conte and Abramovich has proven in the past he is not frightened to wield the axe.

Hart shock target

07.45: Chelsea are planning a shock summer move for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, according to reports.

The Sun claim the Blues are expecting to lose Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid at the end of the season, meaning they will need a new No 1.

And Hart – who is on loan with West Ham this season – is said to fit the bill and could be a suitable temporary replacement for the Belgian.

It is said the 30-year-old England international will be made available on a free transfer, despite being under contract until 2019.

Umtiti transfer battle

07.25: Chelsea are one of three clubs chasing Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti, according to reports in Spain.

The Blues, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all said to be tracking the 24-year-old who has a cut-price £53m release clause.

The three clubs reportedly made contact with the France international’s representatives during the January transfer window.

And Barca are aware of their interest and are now desperate to tie the centre-half down to a new deal with an increased buy-out clause.
