Galaxy S8 v Galaxy S9 – This news could be big reason to buy Samsung’s older flagship

Samsung’s is now just a few weeks away from being officially shown to the world.

This new flagship certainly appears exciting with the device looking set to include a swathe of improvements over its predecessor.

Faster processor, improved battery life and an updated design – which will see the fingerprint scanner move to a more convenient position – all look certain to be included.

Samsung has also teased some major improvements to the camera with the Korean firm saying: “On February 25, Electronics will showcase the next generation of Galaxy devices that reimagines the camera and redefines the way you share your moments.”

It’s thought the camera on the S9 will be much better in low light and offer far better image stabilisation and some new lighting effects.

The larger S9+ will also get some photographic improvements with a dual-lens snapper coming to the rear of the device.

So, there’s exciting times ahead for the Samsung faithful.

However, despite all these new features, there could be one big reason why the older Galaxy S8 may still be more desirable than the S9.

A recent leak from a mobile operator in Korea has suggested the.

If true, it could mean this latest flagship will cost over £730 while the S9+ could push through the £800 barrier.

Contract prices could also be high with Samsung’s new flagship devices usually costing over £40 per month.

We won’t find out official UK pricing until February 25 but this new phone looks certain to be a lot more expensive than the Galaxy S8.

Samsung’s current flagship has seen huge price cuts in recent months with it available for as little as £23 per month on contract.

Even SIM-only prices are dropping with Amazon currently offering the S8 for just £503 – that’s a discount of over £180.

Clearly, if you want the best Galaxy device to date it seems the S9 will be the one to buy.

But, if you are on a budget, you might want to give last year’s Galaxy S8 some serious consideration.
