Super Bowl 2018: Justin Timberlake CONFIRMS halftime set list news

The singer dropped his new album Man Of The Woods today, and also delivered a press conference about his highly-awaited set on Sunday night.

Speaking to press, he confirmed at least one part of his set list: smash hit Can’t Stop The Feeling will appear.

As for rumours of special guests, including Janet Jackson, it seems fans will be disappointed.

“To be honest, I had a ton of grand ideas about special guests,” InStyle quotes him as saying.

“There’s a whole list. I think Vegas has a lot of odds on it, from ‘N Sync to Jay [Jay-Z] to Chris Stapleton to Janet [Jackson].”

He denied all rumours, but promised he’s “doing a few things with this halftime show they’ve never quite done before”.

The halftime show is a big sales opportunity for any artist: the sporting event is annually the most-watched broadcast of its given year in the USA.

Last year’s halftime show, anchored by a spectacular performance by Lady Gaga, achieved 117.5 million television viewers; the second most-watched in history behind only Taylor Swift in 2015.

Gaga then sold 150,000 digital albums and songs in the United States in the immediate aftermath.

She went on to shift 410,000 digital songs in the week following the show – an impressive number that Timberlake will be hoping to replicate.

The Super Bowl halftime show will air on BBC One overnight on Sunday, February 4.
