Sarah Ferguson: Handwriting timeline shows she has ‘matured’ and is ‘less of a rebel’

A timeline of Sarah Ferguson’s handwriting shows her personality has “matured” over the years since her married days to Prince Andrew.

Three handwriting samples, taken between 1996 and 2014, “provide many clues to her core personality”, said handwriting expert and owner of Hand Right website Tracey Trussell.

The fact her handwriting has evolved over this period of time shows the development of Sarah’s core personality, she added.

So what can we learn about how the Duchess of York has changed, from looking at her handwriting?

Sarah’s handwriting in 1993 and 2003 share the same characteristics, said Tracey.

The writing features “large to very large size letters with varying sizes (disproportionately small and weak medium zone, dominant lower zone, large upper zone – all zones greatly fluctuating highlighting problem areas).

“It is also right slant varying, over-connected with connectedness between words.”

But what does this mean about the Duchess of York’s personality at that time?

Tracey explains her handwriting in 1993 shows: “She was impulsive and didn’t always think things through, plus she couldn’t be interrupted or stopped once she’d started something.”

It is the same story in 2003, she added: “Not much had changed”.

“The writing still tells a tale of dissatisfaction, restlessness, lots of pent up energies. “

It shows Sarah was “always hastily seeking the next rush of excitement.”

It also suggests Sarah was “bossy” but kind: “Sarah had a bossy, take-charge attitude – yet woven with kindness, altruism and diligence.“

A more recent sample of Sarah’s handwriting, from 2014, shows a huge change in her character.

The writing has a “smaller absolute size and more zonal balance” with a “rhythmic flow, close word and line spacing with interlinear tangling.”

This shows a “significant shift in her frame of mind”.

“She’s still a delightfully warm, compassionate, upbeat social butterfly, spirited and stimulating company, a people’s person; but she’s calmed down and much more comfortable in her own skin,” Tracey added.

Sarah is not completely different, said Tracey, because she still “needs an emotional high and something to get her teeth into”.

However, on the whole, the Duchess of York has “matured” over the years.
