Meghan Markle and Prince Harry suit up for first black tie engagement together

Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, have taken an evening off wedding planning tonight to celebrate the achievements of wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women at the annual awards ceremony.

Kensington Palace tweeted images of the pair as the event, as it was clear that actress Meghan charmed all those at the event.

They official royal social media account wrote: “Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle meet tonight’s inspiring #EndeavourAwards nominees and other @EndeavourFund participants. Each of the veterans has overcome adversity and used adventure as a catalyst for their recovery.”

Larter they added: “Ms. Markle and Neil Heritage present the Celebrating Excellence Award to Daniel Claricoates from @65degnorth, who took on some of the world’s highest mountains to help his recovery from PTSD. #EndeavourAwards.”

Meghan can be seen smiling at the recipient of the honour.

The event, taking place at Goldsmiths’ Hall in London, has been organised by The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Harry.

Before the awards take place, the American actress and her prince will attend a pre-ceremony reception where they will meet nominees for the awards as well as key supporters of the Endeavour Fund.

Both Meghan and Harry arrived in suits for the event – although they chose not to colour coordinate.

The Suits star opted for a black suit jacket and matching trousers which showed off her ankles.

She teamed this with a white long sleeved blouse and a pair of black pointed toe stilettos.

Meghan accessorised with a small black clutch bag and finished off her demure look by showing off perfectly blow dried hair.

Harry on the other hand wore a dark blue suit, a white shirt and navy tie, along with black lace up shoes.

The event launched last year and the three awards to be presented tonight include Recognising Achievement, Celebrating Excellence and the Henry Worsley honour – named after the adventurer who died following an Antarctic expedition which was raising money for the Endeavour Fund.

Last year Harry and his brother Prince William, 35, presented the awards together.

But William, along with his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, 35, will not be attending this year’s event as they are currently on a Nordic royal tour.

They began their trip in Stockholm, Sweden where they met with the Swedish royal family.

While the Endeavour Fund Awards go on tonight, Kate and William, who are now in Oslo, Norway, will be dining at the Royal Palace.

The Duchess arrived for the dinner earlier tonight looking ethereal in pale pink

The dress, which covered the pregnant Duchess’s wedding dress, had a sheer cape. Kate opted for a blush pink floor-length gown from British fashion house Alexander McQueen, headed up by Sarah Burton.

The dress also featured silver embellishment on the shoulders.

The custom-made dress is not available to buy, but dresses cost in the region of £2,500 from the UK brand.
