Real Madrid players angry over prospect of HUGE deadline day signing

Real Madrid have been keeping tabs on the Inter Milan striker for a number of months but Zinedine Zidane is said to not be a fan of the Argentine.

However, president Florentino Perez is desperate to save the club’s season as they sit fourth in the table and have a serious chance of missing out on the Champions League next year.

So Spanish outlet Don Balon are suggesting that he is willing to go behind the back of Zidane to snap up the striker.

But that could cause outrage behind the scenes as rumours of a fall-out over the transfer come to fruition.

Don Balon add that a war could break out in the team as Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are also not behind the signing.

They feel that their positions would be under threat because they have under-performed for much of the campaign.

Perez is keen to avoid any large-scale problems with the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain on the horizon.

The European competition is Real’s only chance of silverware this season but they face a tough task against Neymar and Co.

Icardi knows he is wanted by the La Liga champions and is reportedly waiting to be given the green light to move to the Bernabeu.

However, if he is not called upon in this transfer window his situation may change if Los Blancos go in for Tottenham’s Harry Kane in the summer.
