Eden Hazard swap deal

21:45: Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will reportedly ask for Marco Asensio in exchange for Eden Hazard joining Real Madrid.

Eden Hazard has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid and Los Blancos are expected to break the bank for him in the summer.

The Belgian’s reluctance to sign a new deal being offered by the Blues is leading Abramovich to accept there is little he can do to stop him making the switch to the Bernabeu.

But the Russian billionaire will not let him go on the cheap.

Reports in Spain have suggested Abramovich is keen on the idea of Cristiano Ronaldo returning to the Premier League with the Portuguese seemingly unhappy in the capital.

But Spanish publication Don Balon claim Abramovich’s advisers are pushing him to pursue a move for Asensio instead.

With Ronaldo 31 years of age, Chelsea feel a move for 22-year-old Asensio would be a better long-term investment.

D’Ambrosio’s Chelsea snub

21:30: Inter Milan star Danilo D’Ambrosio has revealed that he rejected Chelsea as a youngster.

The 29-year-old right-back, who’s won a single cap at international level, decided not to leave his family in Italy.

He said: “Chelsea looked at me for a while when I was younger, I was 17. The trial went well, but I would have had to go alone, without my brother and my parents in order to not to divide the family.

“I have always been taught by my family that you must follow dreams and not the money. I then went to Fiorentina and that November I signed a contract with La Viola.”

Derby eye Kasey Palmer

21:15: Championship promotion hopefuls Derby could snatch a late deal for Chelsea youngster Kasey Palmer.

Derby want to sign the midfielder, 21, for the remainder of the season, according to HITC.

Palmer spent the early part of the season with Huddersfield before suffering an hamstring injury that saw him return to Stamford Bridge.
