Aubameyang to Arsenal is DONE as Wenger confirms transfer in leak on official club website

The Gunners are closing in on a move for the Gabon international and will hope to get a deal wrapped up today.

Aubameyang arrived at Arsenal’s training ground yesterday afternoon for a medical but there has been no official announcement yet.

However, following last night’s 3-1 defeat to Swansea, Arsenal accidentally posted a video of Wenger confirming the striker’s move.

“Aubameyang is an Arsenal player, you must be delighted to get the deal done?” an interviewer said.

The French boss replies: “Yes, it’s good news.

“We need people who can give us more offensive power. We aren’t efficient enough going forward.

“He has a big challenge in front of him, he wants to win the Premier League. It’s absolutely good news for us.”

The brief clip has since been deleted from the article on the club’s website.

Express Sport understands the two clubs have already agreed a fee worth £55.5m but Dortmund are reluctant to sell without getting a replacement in.

Olivier Giroud could be heading the other way, while the Bundesliga side are also showing interest in Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi.

And when quizzed on Giroud’s future following last night’s loss, Wenger admitted the Frenchman could leave before today’s 11pm deadline.

“It’s a possibility (he will leave),” said Wenger.

“But all that will be decided tomorrow morning.

“We will inform you once that is more definite.”
