Swansea 3 – Arsenal 1: Giroud last game and Mkhitaryan debut on Gunners night to forget

Olivier Giroud is set to join Chelsea on transfer deadline day and made what is expected to be his last Arsenal appearance – once again from the bench.

Arsenal were without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who, despite their long-running pursuit, is yet to officially commit to Arsenal.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan earned his debut – off the bench along with Giroud – but made little impact on the game.

Arsenal had gone ahead through Nacho Monreal.

But Sam Clucas hit back almost immediately for Swansea, before Jordan Ayew netted after the break.

Nathan Dyer hit the woodwork for Swansea as they sensed a third goal, which they eventually got when Clucas netted again.

But two was enough to lift the Premier League relegation candidates out of the bottom three.
