WWE Royal Rumble: Shinsuke Nakamura triumphs and sets up Wrestlemania match with AJ Styles

The Artist came in at No14 and eliminated Roman Reigns to become the first Japanese wrestler to win the over-the-top-rope battle royale.

Nakamura, who also eliminated John Cena, had been the bookies’ favourite to prevail for weeks.

Immediately after his triumph the ex-NXT Champion announced he will face Styles at the Showcase of the Immortals on April 8 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Phenomenal One defended his title earlier tonight when he beat Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in a 2-on-1 Handicap match.

He will now face The Artist in a dream match that the fans have been anticipating for over a year.

The Japanese wrestler overcame a grueling Rumble that featured plenty of twists and turns.

WWE legend Rey Mysterio made a shocking return and was one of the last five men standing.

Dolph Ziggler also made a surprise comeback just a few weeks after he claimed he retired.

Finn Balor lasted for almost an hour and made it all the way to the last four.

Heath Slater provided perhaps the bigget shocker when he eliminated ex-WWE Champion Sheamus.

Nakamura’s win now paves the way for Reigns to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal title in RAW’s main event at Wrestlemania.
