Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Arsenal transfer target faces fine after missing bus bomb trial

Prior to Dortmund’s Champions League quarter-final with AS Monaco, their coach was hit by three explosive charges which smashed the windows and left defender Marc Bartra with a fractured wrist.

Bartra and Aubameyang were due to give evidence in court today as witnesses.

But though Bartra appeared, Aubameyang was absent and lawyer Alfons Becker gave the judge a medical certificate from the Dortmund doctor which claimed the Arsenal transfer target was ill.

And according to German outlet Tiroler Tageszeitung, senior prosecutor Carsten Dombert called the certificate “extremely poor” and the judge Peter Windgätter replied: “I agree.

“Whether Aubameyang is imposed a fine for his absence will be decided later.”

Aubameyang’s absence could be due to his move to Arsenal moving ever closer.

It is understood Arsenal and Dortmund have agreed a £55million deal.

And Aubameyang will earn around £180,000-a-week, which will make him the highest paid player at the club.

Dortmund are set to replace Aubameyang with Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on loan until the end of the season.

Olivier Giroud had been an option to join Dortmund but in a transfer merry-go-round could be on the way to Chelsea.
