Aston Villa eye Benik Afobe hijack

are attempting to hijack Wolverhampton Wanderers’ move for Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe.

According to Football Insider, Steve Bruce fancies landing the 24-year-old on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, Villa are unable to land Afobe on a permanent deal.

Despite Bruce’s interest, Wolves are confident of bringing Afobe back to Molineux. 

He enjoyed a successful year with Wolves before joining Bournemouth in January 2016. 

Leeds United eye deal for Carpi striker Jerry Mbakogu

are hoping to seal a deal for Carpi striker Jerry Mbakogu ahead of the summer transfer window.

Leeds sent two scouts to watch the 25-year-old score in a 2-1 win against Spezia on Saturday and the Whites are nearing a summer swoop, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Carpi are reluctant to sell in this transfer window because they in contention to win promotion from Serie B.

Leeds director of football Victor Orta wants to wrap up a deal for Mbakogu as soon as possible to avoid battling other clubs for his signature in the summer.  

Wolves announce Morgan Gibbs-White contract

have announced that Morgan Gibbs-White has put pen to paper on a long-term contract.

boss Jurgen Klopp fancies the England Under-17 World Cup winner but he has committed his future to Molineux until the summer of 2022. 

Gibbs-White has made three appearances for the Championship leaders this season. 

“The club has done so much for me so it was only right for me to sign a new contract here and extend my Wolves career even longer,” he said. “I’m happy that my future here is settled and I can now push forward.
