Rockstar news: Red Dead Redemption 2 release date and new GTA 5 Online update

The Red Dead Redemption 2 release date is still unknown, however, things appear to be heating up.

While Rockstar Games themselves stay tight lipped on the subject, there have been several leaks in recent weeks suggesting when the launch window may fall.

A few retail listings have put the Red Dead Redemption 2 either launching in June or July, still quite a long time away for dedicated fans.

And while all leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt, there are indications that June could be the date we see things happen.

And if that is true it means that we should start seeing more news on launch details coming very soon.

With GTA 5’s original release in 2013, fans started seeing new boxart and other campaigns unveiled months before its final September arrival.

And if Rockstar aren’t planning on delaying their new game further, we should start seeing new information dropping very soon.

Five months before launch, we saw new trailers, as well as pre-order information revealed, meaning something could be being prepped for February.

It should be noted that Rockstar have not revealed any of their plans for Red Dead Redemption 2 yet, so we’ll have to wait and see what actually happens.

RDR2 is so far only announced for PS4 and Xbox One, although it’s likely that a PC port will arrive at a later date.

A recent listing made by Amazon Mexico, stated that the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date will fall in July.

A RDR2 launch on July 12, 2018, is entirely possible, however, it would mean several things have changed with Rockstar’s plans.

The games studio confirmed when they originally delayed their new title from 2017, that Red Dead Redemption 2 would arrive in Spring 2018.

But if the game is to launch on July 12, that would mean the title would be launching outside of that timeframe.

There’s also the fact that it would be released on a Thursday, not a common occurrence for such a big game.

A new GTA 5 Online update has been released on PS4, Xbox One and PC this week.

RDR2 is getting its own large multiplayer mode, but until it launches, GTA Online will rule the roost.

This week’s release saw the arrival of the Ubermacht Revolter, “an executive luxury car with stylish looks and deadly upgrades including a forward-facing machine gun mount.”

This new vehicle is now available to purchase at Legendary Motorsport and costs around 1.6 million to add to you collection.

To help with the drop in your bank account, Rockstar have also extended Double GTA$ & RP opportunities for Air Quota, the new mode which features up to 16 pilots battling it out as they morph between jets, helis, and Thrusters.

Additional Double GTA$ & RP opportunities can also be found across all Rockstar-created Stunt and Land Races until January 29.

Warstock Cache & Carry is also offering 25% off two heavily-armored rides: the Benefactor Turreted Limo, and the amphibious HVY APC tank (Buy It Now & Trade Price).

Fans are expecting another vehicle of some type to drop this week too, as has been the tradition of the past few months.

Rockstar haven’t said what might come next, only that they are working on new content for GTA Online.
