Man Utd news: Fabinho puts Jose Mourinho on alert with latest comments on Monaco future

Jose Mourinho wanted to sign the midfielder in the summer but Monaco refused to sell.

But he admits he’s ready to move if the right offer comes up.

Fabinho said: “If the right move comes up, perhaps a change in league or to a club with a bigger structure and higher ambitions, I would love that.

“My time at Monaco has been great, I managed to win a title, now I believe my time here might be coming to an end.

“I know that the club’s goal is to take second place [in Ligue 1] and earn a spot in the Champions League, not to sign big-name players but rather youngsters to give them their start.”

Fabinho helped Monaco win the league last term but they have struggled to maintain that form again this season after selling a host of star players and with PSG improving.

Manchester United are in the market for midfielders and Fabinho’s comments will alert Mourinho.

United snapped up Alexis Sanchez last week and are now looking at midfield options with Fred and Jean Michael Seri on his radar.

Mourinho is also considering his options in goal with David de Gea again linked with Real Madrid and reports in Spain claim Manuel Neuer is on his radar.
