Real Madrid news: Karim Benzema has agreement with Arsene Wenger BUT Arsenal bid too low

The France international is one of a number of Bernabeu stars to have severely underperformed this term.

And he has been tipped to leave Real this summer as Florentino Perez plots an overhaul of the club’s forward line.

Arsenal have been credited with interest in Benzema ever since he made his name with Lyon in Ligue 1.

And the latest reports from Spain suggest the 30-year-old is ready to finally swap La Liga for the Premier League when the 2018/19 campaign draws to a close.

According to Diario Gol, Benzema has a ‘total’ agreement with Wenger to play for Arsenal next season.

However, the Spanish outlet indicate a huge difference in valuations presents a major stumbling block to a deal.

Arsenal are only prepared to hand over £35m (€40m) for the hitman, with Real demanding £52.3m (€60m).

Whether the Gunners will be able to reach a compromise with Real remains to be seen.

But Benzema is apparently convinced that he will be handed a career boost soon, whether Arsenal go in for him or not.

Diario Gol claim Zinedine Zidane could take the France job after the World Cup if he is pushed out of Real.

And that would likely pave the way for Benzema to make a return from international exile.

Benzema is so confident his Real boss would pick him for France that he’s said to have told friends: “I’m going with Zidane.”
