Friends movie: Lisa Kudrow admits ‘something should be done’ after fake trailer

Made using clips from the stars’ other projects, a YouTube video claiming to be a promo for a Friends comeback movie generated a huge number of views as it went viral; with many of the people sharing it believing it to be real.

Kudrow, speaking on Conan last night, admitted that “something should be done” – but said it would be tricky given that an exact reboot would be “just sad”.

“I don’t know what to make of it,” she said of the clip. “It’s just these weird clips from things that clearly have nothing to do with Friends, and it’s called the Friends movie!”

She added: “Something should be done. I don’t know what.”

“They’re rebooting everything but how does that work with Friends? That was about people in their 20s, 30s.

“Not 40s, 50s… if they have the same problems, then that’s just sad.”

Kudrow had previously poured cold water over the prospect of the Friends cast reuniting for the big screen.

“It’s been 13 years, 13 years of the same question and right now, or in the future, it’s not going to happen. And I every time I say that, I get yelled at!” she told Heat magazine.

“It would great. It would be a lot of fun.

“But even from a logistical purpose, it would never work, because everyone is on ridiculous work schedule, which is often the opposite of someone else.”

Kudrow has gone on to find success in her own comedy The Comeback, which earned cult status over time. She is also currently in Grace and Frankie on Netflix.
