Star Wars 8 The Last Jedi novel will have DELETED SCENES: Han Solo’s funeral and MORE

At two and a half hours long, The Last Jedi is the longest Star Wars movie to date.

Nevertheless, writer and director Rian Johnson’s original cut came in at her three hours long.

So what exactly was cut out? Well some of the film’s planned and deleted scenes are making their way into the official novelisation.

Appearing on The Star Wars Show, Johnson revealed he has been working with Jason Fry, who wrote the upcoming book.

Johnson said: “When I was a kid, when a movie I loved would come out, I would ride my bike to the grocery store and get the novelisation.

“I was very lucky that I got to sit down up at Skywalker Ranch and meet with the author who wrote the novel for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

“We got to talk through some interesting additional scenes from the film.

“That’s the fun stuff you can get into a novel that you can’t always get onto the screen. I’m very happy that we got to do this novel.”

So what scenes will appear in the new book? Fry went on to tease a couple.

Fry said: “Rian Johnson and I had an amazing conversation. We got to write entirely new scenes for the book: Han Solo’s funeral, Rose and Paige Tico together and further explorations of the far-spanning world of Canto Bight, just to name a few.”

The official novelisation of The Last Jedi is released on March 8, 2018.
