North Korea calls for ‘REUNIFICATION’ with South Korea – ‘SMASH all challenges’

North Korea sent a message addressed to “all Koreans at home and abroad” this evening.

It said they should make a “breakthrough” for unification without the help of other countries, its state media said.

They said: “Let us make a breakthrough for independent reunification.”

The announcement was issued by state-run media after a joint meeting of government and political parties.

It added Koreans should wage an energetic drive to defuse the acute military tension and create a peaceful climate on the Korean peninsula.

The announcement said all Koreans should “promote contact, travel, cooperation between North and South Korea”.

And in a violent conclusion, the statemeent warned Pyongyang will “smash” all challenges against reunification of the Korean peninsula.

Military tension on the Korean peninsula was a “fundamental obstacle” for the improvement of inter-Korean relations and unification, the North’s official news agency said.

This has been seen as a direct threat to the USA following a months-long war-of-words between despot Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump.

It added joint military drills with “outside forces” has shown to be unhelpful for the development of relations between North and South Korea.

It comes as North and South Korea prepare to march under a joint unification flag at next month’s Winter Olympics.

And a joint women’s ice hockey team will also compete at the games in South Korea.

Korea has been partitioned since the end of the Korean War.
