Donald Trump vs Piers Morgan: Who has a bigger net worth?

Donald Trump, 71, is set to be interviewed by Piers Morgan, 52, tonight, and it will be shown on ITV on Sunday.

The interview will take place at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

But it is asked who – Donald Trump or Piers Morgan – has the greater net worth?

Piers Morgan, 52, began his journalism career writing for a number of tabloid papers including The Sun, News of the World and the Daily Mirror.

In 1994, at the age of 29, he was appointed editor of News of the World which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

He was later made editor of the Daily Mirror, but found himself caught up in the phone hacking scandal.

This was a controversy involving the News of the World and other British newspapers.

Piers went on to become famous in America after hosting his own television show – Piers Morgan Live on CNN – for three years from 2011.

He was also as a judge on America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent.

According to The Richest, Piers has a net worth of $20million (£15.1million).

But what is Donald Trump’s net worth?

Donald was the fourth child of real estate giant Fred Trump, and he got into real estate with a $1 million loan from his father.

In 1971 he took control of the family company, renaming it the Trump Organisation.

He widened the portfolio from residential sales in Brooklyn and Queens to big projects in Manhattan.

From 2003 he made a name for himself on US television, hosting NBC’s The Apprentice.

This is due to have earned him $213million (£163million) across 14 seasons.

Trump claimed in a presidential campaign disclosure form he was worth in excess of $10billion (£7.5billion)

However, Forbes calculated that his current net worth is actually $3.5billion (£2.6billion).

Either way – it is considerably more than Piers Morgan’s £15.1 million fortune.
