Monster Hunter World Nintendo Switch news: Capcom with fresh Nintendo UPDATE

Monster Hunter World won’t be coming to Nintendo Switch any time soon, according to Capcom.

Speaking to Express Online, Monster Hunter World producer Ryozo Tsujimoto said that there are currently no plans for a Switch release.

Explaining the decision, Tsujimoto said that the PS4 and Xbox One better represent the original vision for the game.

Asked if there was any chance of a Switch port: “We have no plans at the moment. Switch wasn’t even announced at the time we kicked this game off.

“At the time, the platforms we could see and have visibility on is PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and they were the perfect fit for our concept of using the cutting edge, current generation consoles.”

Hopefully Capcom will consider a Nintendo Switch port in the future, especially given the console’s success.

The news comes after Japanese publication Famitsu published the first Monster Hunter World review.

And the game is a popular choice with the reviewers, scoring a near perfect 39/40 review score.

Only Monster Hunter 3 has bettered that score, receiving a perfect 40/40 on release.

According to a breakdown of the review on Resetera, Monster Hunter World features a 50-60 hour story and has lots of replay value.

A “truly worthy” next-generation Monster Hunter game, it’s said to contain a host of quality of life improvements, improved pacing and seamless environments that keep you in the action.

Scoutflies are described as revolutionary, while the action and game systems are accessible to newcomers, yet also incredibly deep.

Monster Hunter World has been given a January 26 release date on PS4 and Xbox One.

It’s launching alongside a limited edition PS4 Pro, complete with a custom Monster Hunter design.
