Nintendo Switch games 2018: New exclusive announcement revealed?

Nintendo look to be building a formidable lineup of titles for release over the next 18 months.

We already know about quite a few them but there are bound to be new announcements made during E3 2018.

A Nintendo Switch games 2018 Direct is almost certain to be broadcast during the expo, which will be happening in June.

And fans have plenty of titles they want to see featured.

The new Pokemon RPG for Switch is likely to be one of the main talking points leading up to E3, as well as Metroid Prime 4.

But as mentioned above, we could also see lots of other surprise reveals too.

And one of those could be a new Animal Crossing game for Nintendo Switch.

A new trademark has been spotted for the franchise which seems to suggest something new could be in development.

According to the translation, Nintendo have applied for a further Animal Crossing trademark, covering “software for a home video game system, portable system, and smartphone devices”.

And it just so happens that the Nintendo Switch is the company’s only real viable home video games system.

There is of course the Wii U, but that’s been put out to pasture for sometime now.

This trademark doesn’t stop there though, also covering a wide range of other product, including: “Smartphone devices, as well as stuffed animals, game machine controllers, board games, playing cards, protective carrying cases, trading card games.”

Animal Crossing: New Leaf was the last game in the series to land on consoles, arriving for the 3DS back in 2012.

It should be noted that while this looks good for the Animal Crossing franchise, this could be a number of different things, or perhaps just an extension be filed for business purposes.

Another new leak also appears to have surfaced, this time in connection with the new Yoshi game coming to Switch.

While we still don’t know that much about the upcoming Switch release – Yoshi for Nintendo Switch is the current working title – the action platformer is expected to arrive in 2018.

It will be a two-player title that includes side-scrolling gameplay and differing paths to completion.

Fans have high hopes for the game, although it probably won’t be able to challenge some of 2017’s biggest Switch titles, such as Zelda Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey.

But what it will do is provide more variety for the existing Nintendo Switch games list, which still has a ways to go before challenging those of the PS4 and Xbox One.

The latest news on the project comes from a potential retail leak, which may have given more clues to when Yoshi on Nintendo Switch may arrive.

A new listing on an Australian retail website states that the title will be launched on June 29, 2018.

This fits in nicely with an earlier leak, with a listing on Amazon Italy providing a June 29, 2018 release date for the standalone adventure.

The reason that these placeholder dates stand out is that most retail listings only register December 2018 for the Yoshi launch.
