UFC News: Conor McGregor receives threat, Whittaker in serious condition, Miocic talks

Conor McGregor receives another warning from Dana White

president Dana White has once again warned Conor McGregor that he’s in danger of losing the lightweight title.

“I said leading into Mayweather fight, I made it pretty clear, I’ve been in this business for a very long time. When you make an obscene amount of money like that, who knows if they’ll ever come back?” he said.

“Right now, with the position we’re in, Conor’s saying, ‘Maybe I’ll come back in August, maybe I’ll come back in September. Well, that’s almost two years. It’s not fair to the rest of the guys in the division.

“The division has to go on. These guys have been fighting their whole career. Everybody wants to get to that pinnacle and it’s the fair thing to do.

“Listen, I take so much s**t for how much I like Conor McGregor and everything else, but the division has to go on.”

Robert Whittaker in a ‘serious condition’

middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is in a ‘serious condition’ following as a result of a staph infection, which was located in his stomach.

“He had staph infection in his stomach,” White said told TSN’s Bronsteter. “From what I understand it wasn’t treated properly and started to eat away at parts of his organs.

“He’s in serious condition, so it’s going to be a minute before he’s back, I think. Hopefully, it turns around quick, but that stuff is life threatening if not treated the right way.”

“No one’s ever defended it three times. I’ve done it and I had a killers row of fighters to get to it. I had a hard path to get to the title, and I’ve had a hard path to defend the title. I had top dudes.

“I had to fight (Andrei) Arlovski, then I had to fight (Fabricio) Werdum in Brazil in front of 45,000 people. Crazy. Next guy, (Alistair) Overeem, killer, K-1 champ, hits like a ton of bricks.

“Next guy, ‘JDS’ (Junior dos Santos), who I lost to. Now I got a guy who’s a phenom. Nothing’s ever easy. I know fighting ain’t easy, but I never had an easy road. Everything was hard.”
