Pokemon Go unable to authenticate status hits Trainers as login goes down

The Pokemon Go unable to authenticate status errors started hitting players around an hour-ago, some of who are currently not able to login into core online services.

A lot of new reports are coming in of Trainers being affected around the globe, and not being able to use their Google accounts to play the game.

There doesn’t appear to be any Niantic support message covering the new outage, although more will probably be revealed soon if the problem persists.

“Down in Houston…. I was logged in and now it’s “unable to authenticate”…. it’s not even trying,” one fan wrote online.

Reddit users in the United States are speculating that it might have something to do with a SSL certificate tied to the game, although nothing has been confirmed by Niantic on the subject.

It’s unclear how long Pokemon Go could be down for, although it’s likely that the outage won’t last too long.
