Meghan and Harry news: Trump ‘NOT invited’ to wedding – and nor is this VIP in ‘snub’ move

It is believed the wedding invitations have not yet been sent out, but it may come as a surprise the US presidents former and present will not be invited.

Part of the reason is because the wedding, which will be paid for by the royal family, will not be a state occasion– unlike Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.

“President Trump will not be invited because the wedding will be for friends and family only. It won’t be a state occasion,” a source told the Daily Mail.

Barack is believed to be a friend of Prince Harry’s, and the pair sat together at the Invictus Games 2017.

More recently, Harry interviewed the former US president on the Radio 4 Today show – so it has been asked: will Obama attend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding?

However, the souce said Obama would not: “If Mr Obama was invited, the invitation could look like a snub to Mr Trump.”

So Obama is not invited because “His Royal Highness would not wish to cause a diplomatic row.”

It comes after Donald Trump cancelled his state visit to the UK this month, when he was due to open the new US embassy in London.

Last month, Prince Harry was asked on Radio 4 Today show whether he would be inviting Obama to the wedding.

However, he declined to answer:  “I don’t know about that.”

“We haven’t put the invites or the guest list together yet, so who knows whether he’s going to be invited or not?

“I wouldn’t want to ruin that surprise,” he finished – but was he dodging the question?
