Kristen Bell, 37, began her acting career starring in stage productions, but the actress quickly made a name for herself, starring on Broadway and then the television series Veronica Mars. 

She shot to fame after starring as Elle Bishop in the sci-fi series Heroes, and her breakout film role as the title character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall won her fans globally. 

Kristen has since appeared in a number of comedy films, and will go down in history tonight as she becomes the Screen Actors Guild Award’s first ever host.

Kristen, who has been married to actor Dax Shepard since 2013, knew she wanted to be an actress from the age of 13. 

She appeared in several TV adverts and after leaving school attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. 

Kristen began performing in Broadway productions, which included The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and a production of The Crucible. 

But as she looked to progress her career he moved to Los Angeles where her TV and film career took off quick. 

In 2004 she landed the title role in a series called Veronica Mars, and after winning critical acclaim for her role, and after the series ended in 2007, she appeared in Box Office hit Forgetting Sarah Marshall. 

While Kristen hosts the SAG Awards tonight, her own acting talent has won her recognition over the years. 

In 2006 she won a Saturn Awards from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for Best Actress on Television for Veronica Mars.
