Sanchez is set to join Manchester United from Arsenal in a swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
And United have published their Monday briefing this morning with a mention of Sanchez.
In their second bulletin, entitled ‘Mourinho’s update on Alexis’ they published Jose Mourinho’s quotes from the weekend.
It read: “Speaking after the win about Mr Sanchez, the name that was on everybody’s lips over the weekend, Jose explained: “I expect soon or never. I think it’s so close, so close, so close that if it doesn’t happen, it’s not going to happen, so I am positive.
“I know that my people are doing absolutely everything they can – the owners with the green light and Mr Woodward working hard. I think everybody is giving everything they can and I think we’re going to be successful.”
Sanchez is expected to be announced as a United player today after arriving in Manchester over the weekend.
He has undergone a medical, agreed terms and even been spotted taking selfies on the pitch at Old Trafford.
He will sign a four-and-a-half year deal, wear the No 7 shirt and could make his debut against Yeovil on Friday.
