Forget the Xperia XZ2 – This could be the Sony phone everyone is talking about

Sony Xperia fans could have an exciting few months ahead with the Japanese technology company expected to reveal an all-new flagship at Mobile World Congress.

Some rumours have suggested an could be revealed but some new information hints at something completely different.

Reports coming out of China reveal that Sony’s next smartphone could be called the Xperia XZ Pro.

And it could be one to watch at next month’s Show in Barcelona.

It’s thought this Pro version of the Xperia will feature many of the things Sony fans have been waiting for including a dual-lens camera and edge-to-edge display.

Sony has been slow to include this latest technology with many of its rivals taking the lead when it comes to cameras and full-screen designs.

Other rumours about XZ Pro suggest it’s edge-to-edge OLED display will measure in at 5.7-inches and will offer full 4K Ultra HD resolution.

Along with a stunning screen and new camera it could also be massively powerful with the device thought to be running Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor.

Qualcomm is boasting that its new chip will be around 25 to 30 per cent faster than the SnapDragon 835, which launched in November 2016.

It’s also much more efficient meaning improved battery life and, with Quick Charge 4+ technology inside, the new processor is designed to boost your device up to 50 per cent of a full charge in just 15 minutes.

Other than this latest speculation little else is known about the XZ Pro but fans should probably expect Sony’s usual aluminium styling and water resistant design.

Sony won’t be the only company revealing new devices next month.

Samsung and Huawei have both confirmed major events at MWC 2018 with the Galaxy S9 and P11 expected to be revealed.

Express.co.uk will be in Barcelona and will bring you all the news live as it happens.
