The Championship club’s owner Dr Tony Xia has taken to Twitter to post an intriguing update using emojis revealing a deal is close.
Xia, who regularly posts on the social media site, kept fans vaguely in the loop with the club’s dealings during last summer’s window.
The latest tweet involved a handshake and pen emoji plus the number 24.
The common consensus among fans is that Manchester United defender Axe Tuanzebe is heading to Villa Park on loan.
Writing on Twitter, one supporter said: “Got to be: Axel Tuanzebe?”
