The Red Devils have agreed a straight swap to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading in the opposite direction.
It’s understood no money will be involved.
Sanchez is in Manchester and is expected to undergo a medical with Jose Mourinho’s side later today while Mkhitaryan arrived in London late last night.
And the Old Trafford faithful have been taking to Twitter to express their delight as Sanchez’s move inches closer.
“Today is the day. Come on @ManUtd ,, announce Alexis Sanchez! #MUFC,” one fan wrote.
Another said: “Today is the day…..we welcome @Alexis_Sanchez to @ManUtd . What a signing this will be #mufc.”
