Your Sky TV just got an update – Here’s how to get 80 extra channels without paying more

Sky customers can get access to more channels without paying anything extra thanks to a major update.

The revamp comes in the form of the new Sky Entertainment package which now replaces the older Originals bundle.

Sky Entertainment offers users 350 channels – 80 extra than the Originals it replaces.

These include entertainment, comedies, Sky exclusives and music.

It costs £20 a month – the same as Originals – and can be personalised by adding any combination of Sky Box Sets, Sky Kids or Sky HD to Sky Entertainment for just £5 a month each.

Sky says the new Entertainment bundle is available to all new and existing customers, although anyone wanting the channels will have to take out a new 18-month contract.

If you don’t want to sign a new deal Sky says it won’t force anyone onto the update bundle with customers able to stay on their current plan.

Speaking about the new service a Sky spokesperson said: “We’re introducing a new TV package called Sky Entertainment, which will let customers make Sky TV their own by personalising it based on what they love to watch. All customers will be able to enjoy the new package.”

HERE’S SOME OF THE CHANNELS INCLUDED WITH THE NEW ENTERTAINMENT BUNDLE

Sky Atlantic, Sky One, Sky Living, MTV, Discovery, National Geographic, Sky Sports Mix, Sky News, Good Food, Comedy Central, Fox, History, Real Lives.

The UK firm says that customers have saved over £20 million worth of mobile data since the launch of Sky Mobile in January last year.

Sky’s unique service allows consumers to bank the data they don’t get through each month which can then be used a later date when things may be running low.

Most mobile contracts don’t allow valuable data to be rolled over meaning it gets wasted if not used.

Sky says that the huge amount of data saved, close to 2.2 million GBs, is equivalent to streaming over 3 million hours of TV and movies on a phone, streaming and listening to 440 million songs, or sending over 30 billion instant messages on WhatsApp.

“When we entered the smartphone market we wanted to tackle the issue of unused data and customers paying too much for their allowance,” said Liz Wynn, Commercial Director for Sky Mobile, said:

“Over 20 million people in the UK were regularly buying more data than they needed to avoid going over their data allowance, and accepted this as the norm.

“We created Sky Mobile and Roll to challenge this status quo.

“One year on we can see its working, with our customers already saving £20 million worth of data.”
