Alexis Sanchez banners still up at the Emirates as Arsenal ignore Man Utd transfer

Sanchez is on the verge of completing a £35million move to Manchester United and is expected to complete his medical today.

The Chilean striker is set to sign a deal worth £500,000-a-week at Old Trafford, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading to in part-exchange.

The transfer had stalled with Mkhitaryan and his agent Mino Raiola unhappy with the Gunners’ contract offer.

But Sanchez reportedly received a call at 11pm last night following a breakthrough in negotiations and travelled north immediately to complete his deal.

However, Arsenal have left several Sanchez banners up at the Emirates for today’s clash with Crystal Palace, while the 28-year-old and the recently-sold Theo Walcott are visible on posters outside the club stadium.

There is also plenty of Sanchez merchandise available from vendors near the Emirates, although most of it is now on sale at knock-down prices ahead of his expected departure.
