Lionel Messi: Barcelona star told of HUGE Real Madrid transfer which could cause drama

Real have so far been quiet in the January transfer window but their poor La Liga form has led to serious doubts they could miss out on finishing in the top four.

They currently sit 19 points behind Barcelona and Villarreal are breathing down their neck in fifth place.

A serious problem for Los Blancos this season has been in front of goal with no player having scored more than four goals in the league.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been sensational in Europe, but his last La Liga goal came against Sevilla at the start of December.

However, Karim Benzema has been the one under increased pressure having found the net just twice.

That has led to reports suggesting Real could dive into the transfer market with Icardi touted as their No 1 target.

And, according to Mi Otra Liga, the Argentine has already told Messi he will join Real.

The striker reportedly hasn’t ruled out leaving Inter Milan this month, although a move in the summer could be more viable with the Serie A giants currently fighting to finish in the Champions League places.

Icardi has a £97.7million release clause in his contract but Real have plenty of money to spend with Florentino Perez set to splash the cash in the summer in order to rival Barcelona.

The 24-year-old only became a regular for the national team last year having found it difficult to strike up a partnership with Messi.

It is now reported the two have improved their relationship to the point Icardi has told Messi of Real’s plans to sign him.

However, the potential move could cause tension between the pair with El Clasico’s often being intense match-ups with Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique’s bust-ups a clear example of international team-mates not getting along.
