Gael García Bernal as Héctor Rivera
Mexican actor, director and producer Bernal, 39, was nominated for a BAFTA in 2005 for The Motorcycle Diaries, and picked up a Golden Globe in 2016 for his work in Mozart In The Jungle. The same year he was also listed on Time Magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people.
Benjamin Bratt as Ernesto de la Cruz
Brett will be the most recognisable, arguably, to many Western audiences. An accomplished actor, the 54-year-old has starred on TV in Law and Order, Private Practise and 24: Live Another Day; plus the films Miss Congeniality, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs and Doctor Strange.
Alanna Ubach as Mamá Imelda Rivera
Ubach, 42, is an actress who is particularly established for her voice role. She played Serena McGuire in Legally Blonde, and has provided her voice to The Spectacular Spider-Man and the movie Rango.
Renée Victor as Abuelita Elena Rivera
Victor is best known for her work on hit TV show Weeds, and she also had a recurring role in ER in 2004.
Ana Ofelia Murguía as Mamá Socorro “Coco” Rivera
84-year-old Ofelia Murguía has a wealth of credits to her name, built up across an illustrious career. Many of her work has been in Mexico, but she – like Bernal, has starred in Mozart In The Jungle.
Edward James Olmos as Chicharrón
Director and actor Olmos, 70, has been a pioneer for more diversified roles for Hispanic stars across the media. He has starred in Stand And Deliver, Miami Vice, Battlestar Galactica, Blade Runner and even last year’s Blade Runner 2049, reprising the role of Detective Gaff.
Jaime Camil as Papá Enrique River
Camil, 44, is best known for playing Rogelio de la Vega in Jane the Virgin. He was also in Devious Maids, and has a vast amount of Mexican credits.
Sofía Espinosa as Mamá Luisa Rivera
Espinosa, 28, is a lauded actress, having won the Ariel Award for Best Actress for her work in 2014’s Gloria. She was nominated for the same gong in 2006 for La Niña en la Piedra (Nadie Te Ve).
