Xbox One games news: Massive release not coming to PS4 Pro is a must for Microsoft

While the Xbox One games list already boasts some top titles, fans are aware that there haven’t been as many exclusives as Sony’s PS4 Pro in the past months.

The tech giant are in need of something more than the projects they’ve already announced, some of which have already seen delays.

Microsoft could also do with a few more projects that would benefit the Xbox One X in someway.

So this week’s reports of a new exclusive Xbox One game being in development is sure to give fans a boost.

Rumours have been swirling since the new year that some old franchises might be in line for a reboot.

One of those is Fable, which hasn’t seen a proper release since Fable 3 in 2010.

A recent database leak suggested that Fable 4 could be in the works with a UK developer, and now more information has arrived, backing it up.

Eurogamer have now confirmed through new sources that development on a new Fable game has started, although it’s still in the early stages.

This would suggest that we might hear something about it at E3 2018, although it won’t have a release date for sometime.

“We’ve heard the new Fable is planned as a story and character-focussed open-world action RPG,” Eurogamer reports.

“A significant investment in its development is also planned, with some 200 people set to work on the game at Playground’s newly-established second office in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.

“The fantasy world of Albion is set to live once again.

“Don’t expect to play this new Fable any time soon, however. We’ve heard it’s early days in terms of development, with Playground currently staffing up the team from double digits to its triple digit target.”

Fable isn’t the only franchise Microsoft are reportedly planning on bringing back either, with the same database leak outing several other projects.

These included a new Perfect Dark game, as well as a new Forza Horizon set in Japan, which would be less surprising for gamers who have become accustomed to nearly yearly launches for the franchise.

Microsoft also recently revealed that things could be a little different during their E3 2018 conference.

Xbox chief Phil Spencer had this to say about the upcoming event, teasing: “I don’t think we’ve talked about yet, but I think will be some positive changes at E3.

“Could be fun for us; it’ll be a nice change.”
