The PlayStation 4 scored a big victory over the this week, as new sales figures are revealed for Japan.

The Nintendo Switch made weekly sales of 37,000 throughout the region, while the sold 43,000.

Based on the figures posted by Resetera, the sales win might have something to do with the popularity of Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT.

The Square Enix brawler was comfortably the biggest selling game last week, beating its closest rival Splatoon 2 by a considerable amount.

With Monster Hunter World out later this month, the PS4 should continue to grow in popularity.

Switch stock shortages may also have affected sales, which always drop off after Christmas.
