The President announced the release of the awards on social media.
He tweeted: “And the FAKE NEWS winners are…
“Despite some very corrupt and dishonest media coverage, there are many great reporters I respect and lots of GOOD NEWS for the American people to be proud of!”
News reporter Veronica Miracle tweeted that the site crashed “less than a minute” after going live.
She said: “Mr. @realDonaldTrump announced the winners of the ‘Fake News Awards.’ Less than a minute later, the site crashed.”
