PlayStation fans just got some EXCELLENT Spider-Man release date news for PS4

The PS4 games list is looking strong in 2018, packing some big exclusives which fans are hoping won’t be delayed.

Dominating the list is Marvel’s Spider-Man, a new web-slinging adventure which won’t be on any other console.

It was seen as a big coup for Sony PlayStation to nab the game, which has already had some big gameplay reveals.

But there have been lingering fears over whether something as big as Spider-Man on PS4 could be delayed.

It would make sense that Sony wouldn’t want to rush such a big title, which could sell extremely well.

Launching big games prematurely can lead to major headaches, especially when it comes to big budget titles.

However, the most recent PS4 news suggests that everything is safely on track.

Insomniac Games developer James Stevenson posted a very short message on a Resetera thread, which was a discussion regarding a Year in Review email sent out by Sony.

This apparently showed a list of PS4 games launching in 2018, including titles such as Days Gone.

It didn’t, however, show Spider-Man, which seemed a little odd.

However, the short message from Stevenson – which simply read “Spider-Man is 2018” – suggests fans can rest easy.

The PS4 exclusive Spider-Man game was unveiled with an in-game engine demo at E3 2016.

The game stars a more seasoned Peter Parker who will need to balance his chaotic personal life with his career.

It also contains new parkour abilities, not to mention environmental combat and “blockbuster set-pieces”.

Creative Director Bryan Intihar recently revealed how Mile Morales will fit into the game, and the planned storyline.

Speaking to GamesTM magazine, Intihar revealed: “Miles didn’t start out with as big of a role as he has now. But as we started doing more research on the character, I went back and just started reading more and more and more.

“I’ll be honest, I just fell in love with the character. Just like MJ can provide a different perspective on the world, I thought Miles and his relationship to Peter brings something different.

“Miles is younger than Peter, and what they experience, and how they get into each other’s live is pretty unique.

“I said off the bat that we wanted to make a unique Spider-Man universe, one that obviously takes cues from the comics and movies, but also does something unique and different…I’m pretty excited about him and where we take him.

“It’s going to be something. It’s going to surprise people.”
