Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho to sign new long-term deal because of Alexis Sanchez

The Portuguese coach said earlier this season he is unlikely to finish his managerial career at Old Trafford and suggested Paris-Saint Germain could be his next destination.

But he seems content with life at United for the time being with Sky Sports reporting Mourinho is set to sign a contract extension.

It is said he’s happy with the way he has been backed in the transfer market with the club on the verge of completing a deal for Alexis Sanchez.

United have also been linked with a potential move for Lucas Moura with PSG prepared to sell the Brazilian this month.

Mourinho took charge of United in 2016 and won both the EFL Cup and the Europa League in his first season.

This year hasn’t gone completely to plan with Manchester City running away with the title.

But they have seemingly beat their rivals to the signing of Sanchez. City had a deal wrapped up to sign the 29-year-old in the summer but United have come in and offered more money to Arsenal with a deal expected to be announced this week.

Mourinho did recently back-track on his comments suggesting he could leave the club.

“If you want to ask me directly if I see myself next season at Manchester United, then I say I see myself here,” Mourinho said.

“As I said when I arrived, I am going to leave when the club wants me to leave because I have no intention to leave at all.”
