FIFA 18 TOTY Defenders, Goalkeeper COUNTDOWN: Full nominees, reveal time, release date

FIFA 18 developer EA Sports is getting ready to announce which defenders and goalkeeper have made it into the FUT team of the year.

EA Sports has already announced the attackers and midfielders, and is getting ready to reveal the defensive positions.

The TOTY defenders category features a whole host of Premier League stars, including David Luiz, Marcos Alonso, Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen and Antonio Valencia.

The four defenders that gave made it into the FIFA 18 TOTY will be revealed at 3pm UK time.

The team of the year defenders will then be available in the game for 24 hours from 6pm GMT.

The Premier League is also well represented in a goalkeeper category that includes Hugo Lloris and David de Gea.

It is believed the goalkeepers will be revealed at the same time, so stay tuned for more information.

The midfield lineup includes Kevin De Bruyne, Luka Modric and N’Golo Kanté. Modric and De Bruyne have been given a 96 rating, while Kante jumps up to 95.

The TOTY kicked off on Monday, when EA Sports revealed which attacking players .

And it was good news for Tottenham Hotspur fans, as Harry Kane made the TOTY for the first time with a 96 rating.

The Spurs striker was joined by TOTY regulars Cristiano Ronaldo with 99 and Lionel Messi on 98. 

The news comes as EA Sports reveals a major new FIFA 18 initiative in the US.

EA Sports is teaming with Major League Soccer to launch a FIFA 18 eSports league.

A total of 19 out of 23 MLS teams will be represented by professional FIFA 18 players in the eMLS.

The teams include Chicago Fire, Colorado Rapids, Columbus Crew SC, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, LA Galaxy, Minnesota United FC, Montreal Impact, New England Revolution, New York City FC and New York Red Bulls.

That’s on top of Orlando City SC, Philadelphia Union, Portland Timbers, San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders FC, Sporting Kansas City, Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
