Alexis Sanchez will move to Man Utd, Aubameyang to replace him at Asenal in ‘coming days’

Arsenal are on the verge of signing Aubameyang for around £53million as Gunners boss Arsene Wenger attempts to reverse their faltering season.

Aubameyang has been one of the most prolific strikers in European football over the past few years with 134 goals in his last 98 games.

The Gabon international’s arrival comes with Alexis Sanchez nearing the exit door at the Emirates after three-and-a-half seasons in London.

However, Sanchez’s sale to Manchester United is being held up by Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has been offered as a makeweight in the deal but it yet to agree personal terms.

This is not expected to impact Aubameyang’s move to Arsenal with German newspaper BILD calming the switch should be completed in the “coming days”.

And the report adds that Dortmund are targeting Chelsea’s Batshuayi as his replacement.

Batshuayi has been unable to establish himself at Stamford Bridge, failing to convince manager Antonio Conte in his performances.

The Belgian scored the goal that won Chelsea the Premier League title last season but Alvaro Morata’s arrival in the summer has kept him on the bench.

And speaking yesterday, Conte did not give assurances that Batshuayi had a future at Chelsea.

“He is Chelsea’s player and he is in our squad,” said Conte.

“Tomorrow he has to play [vs Norwich]. I think this is the truth until now.

“He is a Chelsea player and is having the possibility to show that he can play for Chelsea.

“This is the reality, in the future I don’t know what will happen.”

As for Sanchez, Express Sport understands United have a £350,000-a-week contract lined up for the Chilean.

Chelsea’s interest in the forward cooled yesterday, while Manchester City are out of the race after refusing to raise their £20m offer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger appears resigned to losing the 29-year-old and left him out of the Arsenal squad that lost 2-1 to Bournemouth last weekend.
