Nintendo Switch games shock as new 2018 announcements are teased

While we know that Nintendo are planning their own big 2018 releases for their new console, we’re now starting to see first-party support pick up too.

Bayonetta 1, 2 and now Bayonetta 3 have been confirmed for the Switch, while other franchises such as Outlast are also in-development.

Other adult games confirmed for the Nintendo console include Wasteland 2, PayDay 2 and Wolfenstein 2: The new Colossus.

Another intriguing announcement was for the Dark Souls Remastered project, which has been give a May 25 release date.

According to Nintendo, the Remastered release will include the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, as well as an improved frame-rate and resolution.

It’s also been announced for PS4 and Xbox One, but there might also be other projects that will prove just as popular with fans on Switch.

According to Kotaku, all three Dark Souls could be coming to the Nintendo Switch games list in the future.

While the second instalment in the series didn’t fare quite as well as the original, Dark Souls 3 proved very popular.

And now it appears it could eventually arrive as a portable game, something that could prove irresistible to die-hard fans of the franchise.

“One of our sources indicates that Bandai Namco plans to bring all three Dark Souls games to Switch eventually, but the oft-rumoured ‘trilogy’ bundle is not how this will be happening – yet,” Kotaku reports.

Other games announced during the short Nintendo January Direct included Mario Tennis Aces and Switch ports of Wii U hits Hyrule Warriors and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.

The World Ends With You Final Remix and SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy were also announced during the first Nintendo Direct of 2018.

However, for fans hoping for other big announcements to be revealed on reported titles like GTA 5 and Super Smash Bros, there’s still hope for more news.

This is because every single Nintendo Direct Mini so far has been followed up with a full Nintendo Direct presentation just a few weeks later.

Major announcements are usually held back for full Nintendo Direct presentations, so the Japanese gaming giant could be readying some big news for fans.

And the timelines so far would indicate another Nintendo Direct happening either in January or early February.

If a new Direct event is announced, it’s unlikely to include titles such as Dark Souls 2 and 3, however, other big ports will likely be among whatever is making the headlines.
