PS4 games shock as TWO big 2018 announcements are leaked

PS4 games fans have plenty of new titles to look forward to in 2018, and probably quite a few projects that haven’t been announced yet.

The latest PlayStation news suggests that that might be the case, with one unannounced project moving along smoothly.

Hideaki Itsuno, rumoured to be in charge of a new Devil May Cry 5 project, recently confirmed that whatever he is working on, it’s going well.

Speaking to fans on Twitter, Itsuno revealed that “The project is fine. Please expect!” which doesn’t really give much away.

However, there have been other leaks in the past that suggest that Devil May Cry 5 will be released in 2018.

Although worth taking with a pinch of salt, reports surfaced online that the DMC franchise could be back in November 2018, bar any kind of delays in development.

It’s also rumoured that Devil May Cry 5 will be a timed-exclusive for the PS4, adding to a top 2018-19 lineup.

The same reports suggest that the new Capcom announcement will be made during the PlayStation E3 showcase, which won’t be held until June, 2018.

And while that’s still some time away, there’s plenty of other big PS4 games news on the horizon.

The God of War release date could be announced very soon, if the latest leaks are to be believed.

According to a series of PSN Store leaks, the God of War release date is set for March, 2018.

Several South American PSN Stores apparently had the listing up early, before they were changed back to a placeholder date.

The exact release date for God of War was reportedly listed as March 22, a date that will likely prove popular with fans.

It should be noted that this doesn’t come from an official announcement, meaning it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.

However, if God of War is launching in March 2018, it will mean Sony will need to make a big PS4 announcement soon.

The month already has two launches confirmed, with Yakuza 6: The Song of Life arriving on March 20 and Far Cry 5 launching nearer the end of the month.

There have also been more recent rumours that appear to suggest the same release date for God of War.

A Portuguese retailer has also reportedly posted the same date for the God of War launch, adding more evidence to the idea of a March 22 launch being true.

God of War will move away from Ancient Greece and into Norse mythology when the new game launches exclusively on PS4.

But according to God of War developer Sony Santa Monica, the studio was torn about where to set the new game.

Creative director Cory Barlog said that half the team wanted to pit Kratos against the pharaohs by sending him to Ancient Egypt.

“Egyptian mythology was the other one and half the team was way into that,” Barlog revealed.

“All of them had great reasons. I think, for me, as I looked at both of those, Egyptian mythology is about the pharaohs as embodiments of the gods on earth and there’s a lot more about civilisation – it’s less isolated, less barren.

“I think at this time, we really wanted to focus on Kratos. Having too much around distracts from that central theme of a stranger in a strange land.”
