Monster Hunter World news: Will there be an Xbox One beta? Capcom reveals all

Monster Hunter World fans are counting down to the third and final PS4 beta, which kicks off next week.

Ahead of the imminent PS4 demo, Express Online spoke to Monster Hunter World producer Ryozo Tsujimoto to see if there was any chance of an beta.

Unfortunately, however, it’s not good news for Xbox One owners.

Asked if there were plans for an Xbox One beta, Tsujimoto replied: “No, we’re focusing on PS4 right now.”

The PS4 beta, on the other hand, has a January 18 release date and runs until January 22.

And the next beta will include some new content, as players get to battle the game’s “terrifying and challenging flagship monster Nergigante”.

That’s on top of previous missions such as ‘Great Devourer, Great Jagras’, ‘Wildspire Rampage’ and ‘The Ancient Forest Menace’.

Capcom has also revealed more about Monster Hunter World’s DLC plans.

The Monster Hunter World team plans to release new content for free after the game launches.

The first content major content drop adds the Deviljho, which will launch sometime this spring.

“Players will be able to put their hunting skills to the test against this brute,” Capcom explains.

“The Deviljho must feed constantly and will devour anything in its way, even feeding on the largest of monsters with its massive jowls. This wild beast really is one for only the bravest of hunters to take on!”

Capcom has also given fans one or two Monster Hunter World tips ahead of the release date.

Players are encouraged to communicate using voice chat and text chat, but also by using set phrases, stickers and gestures.

Capcom also encourages players to take advantage of their surroundings by hiding in foliage, using Vitalities to replenish health and Flashflies to blind monsters.

Specialised tools will grant players temporary abilities, including a Ghillie Mantle that will camouflage you from monsters.
