Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez to hurt Barcelona with stunning transfer swoop

Antoine Griezmann has been tipped to leave Atletico Madrid in the summer with Barcelona leading the chase for his signature.

The France international has an £86million release clause that Barca have shown they are more than capable of meeting this month, following the £142m arrival of Philippe Coutinho.

However, the Catalan side could be bitterly disappointed in the summer as are reportedly plotting a move for the 26-year-old.

Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Real’s president Florentino Perez has his sights firmly set on the Frenchman.

And he is said to have added him to the club’s ever-growing wishlist of striker targets for the summer.

Don Balon claim Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Juventus’ Paulo Dybala are also being targeted.

Perez has reportedly made rejuvenating Real’s frontline a priority in the summer and the opportunity to hurt both Barca and Atletico with the arrival of Griezmann is an added bonus.

A deal for the former Real Sociedad man may also not be too difficult to achieve as he has openly admitted he has plans to leave the Wanda Metropolitano.

“While I have everything to be happy, this doesn’t mean I won’t leave one day,” he wrote in his biography Behind the Smile.

“I have not made a decision. It all depends on several factors.

“As much as I repeat that I am delighted at Atletico, I have a great coach and great teammates, they regularly ask me about my future.

“I don’t exclude anything, I have nothing against England, apart from the weather and Manchester United is a possibility.”
