PUBG Xbox One update: AMAZING new stats prove PS4 release date can’t come soon enough

PUBG is proving incredibly popular on Xbox One, as Microsoft reveals an amazing new sales stat.

In a move that’s likely to make Sony and PS4 owners green with envy, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg revealed that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has 3 million players on Xbox One.

“Since PUBG launched on Xbox One through the Xbox Game Preview program it’s been awesome to see the excitement and passion on display from the Xbox community,” Greenberg writes.

“Whether you’re streaming in the HypeZone on Mixer or battling for a chicken dinner with your squad, players on Xbox are helping build and improve the game on console.

“Today, PUBG Corp. and Xbox are excited to share that through the end of 2017 the PUBG community on Xbox One has already grown to over three million players. Thank you for your incredible support!”

It’s unclear how many units PUBG has sold, but it’s clearly a big hit with Xbox One owners. It’s so popular that it sold 1 million units within 48 hours of going on sale.

According to Greenberg, PUBG developer Bluehole continues to work on new updates for Xbox One.

This includes the brand new Miramar map, which is set in the desert.

“The team at PUBG Corp. is determined to continue to improve the in-game experience for PUBG’s growing and active community and have already released four updates since the game’s launch in Xbox Game Preview on December 12,” the post continues.

“You’ll continue to see regular updates roll out for PUBG on Xbox One such as this week’s addition of first-person support for solo, duo and squads gameplay and the team is just getting started, with more updates planned that include additional game optimisation and the new ‘Miramar’ map.”

The news comes as PUBG gets a huge update on PC.

Following a period of maintenance, the new PUBG update is headlined by two new loot crates packed with items.

The new items can be found by opening Biker crates and Desperado crates, the latter of which requires paid keys to unlock.

Unlockables include new gloves, boots, jeans, glasses, hats and jackets.

Unfortunately, however, while the most common items have a 15% drop rate, the rarest gear only drops 0.01% of the time. That’s true of the brown and black Sleeveless Biker Jackets, as well as the checkered Cloth Mask.
