Eden Hazard talks new Chelsea contract but will NOT sign until this happens

Eden Hazard has been the subject of much transfer speculation in recent months with a move to Real Madrid potentially on the cards.

The 26-year-old seemed to be stalling on a new deal with and even talked up a switch to the Bernabeu last year.

But the Belgium international has now quashed rumours that he will leave the Blues by confirming he intends to sign a new deal.

However, he has claimed he will not do so until his fellow countryman Thibaut Courtois has also extended his stay at Stamford Bridge.

When asked by The Mirror while attending an NBA London event if he plans to sign a new contract with Chelsea, he replied: “Yes.

“I think Thibaut first. Then I will sign.”

Hazard has two years remaining on his current contract, while Courtois’ is set to expire next summer.

The Belgian forward’s claims put to bed rumours of him leaving the Premier League champions for Real Madrid – something he admitted last year was a possibility.

“I am always very fine at this club,”  in November.

“I still have two years of my contract but when I feel the desire to leave, I’ll leave. For now, I’m a Blue.

“We know the admiration that I have for Real, but I’m at Chelsea. Every year, things were said about me but I stayed.

“In Lille, I was announced in Paris but I stayed. And in Chelsea, people always said that I’m leaving, but I’m still here.”
