Donald Trump blasted for shock outburst at migrants from ‘s***hole countries”

The US president was referring to Haiti, El Salvador and the continent of Africa as he was being prepped on immigration policy by Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin yesterday.

issued the slur as Senator Durbin listed the countries benefiting from visa lotteries.

He said: “Why do we want all these people from s***hole countries coming here?”

When Haiti was discussed he added: “Why do we need more Haitians? Take them out.”

Mr Trump, who had met the Norwegian Prime Minister the previous day, said instead America should instead accept more immigrants from Norway.

The comments were relayed to US media by sources involved in the meeting.

The White House did not dispute the claims and instead said they expected it would “resonate” with Mr Trump’s supporters.

An official told CNN: “The President’s ‘s***hole’ remark is being received much differently inside of the White House than it is outside of it.

“Though this might enrage Washington, staffers predict the comment will resonate with his base, much like his attacks on NFL players who kneel during the National Anthem did not alienate it.”

Mr Trump’s comments were condemned by former Mexican president Vincente Fox Quesada.

He tweeted: “Donald Trump, your mouth is the foulest s***hole in the world. With what authority do you proclaim who’s welcome in America and who’s not.

“America’s greatness is built on diversity, or have you forgotten your immigrant background, Donald?”

Former Haitian president Laurent Lamothe said: “Shame on Trump! The world is witnessing a new low today with this ‘s***hole nations’ remark.

“Totally unacceptable! Uncalled for, moreover it shows a lack of respect and ignorance never seen before in the recent history of the US by any president.

“Enough is enough!”

And Hillary Clinton’s daughter Chelsea tweeted: “Mr President, immigrants from El Salvador, Haiti and the 54 countries in Africa likely helped build your buildings. They’ve certainly helped build our country.”
